1. - Peritonitis(peri.)=rebound tenderness(mild peri.)= abdominal tenderness(mild peri.)= guarding(moderate peri.)= washboard hard abdomen( severe peri.)=ALL These S.&S.are varying degrees of peritoneal inflammation, these S.&S. are not sensitive & not specific for any disease, furthermore, one disease might present with varying degrees of peritonitis depending on the patient's Hx. and the severity of the inflamation. -Any Abdominal pathology can lead to different degrees of intestinal wall motion paralysis, HYPER-peristalsis, then Visible-Peristalsis, HYPO-peristalsis, & Finally, quiet abdomen & complete bowell obstruction. -Most common causes MCC of adult Small bowell Obstruction(SBO) is Adhesions, then Hernia, then CA; MCC of pediatric SBO Hernias.
  2. Distention; diffuse pain without rebound tenderness
    1. Dx. Intestinal OBSTRUCTION
  3. Peritonitis & loss of liver dullness
    1. Dx. Viscus PERFORATION
  4. SEVER pain & LITTLE tenderness
    1. Ischemic or strangulated bowel
  5. Pulsatile mass ,or Tender mass, or shock
    1. GI Bleeding
    2. Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm
    3. Ectopic Pregnancy
    4. abscess
