      1. Student will be taught how to compare by watching a video about comparing and contrasting.
    2. Kinesthetic
      1. Students will be expected to cut out character traits or information about the characters from a handout and then the students will glue the cut outs onto a graphic organizer.
  2. Interests
    1. Dramatic play
      1. For students that enjoy speaking in front of an audience, two students can partner up and role play the two different characters and through acting show the similarities and differences.
    2. Games:
      1. The class will be divided into two groups. Each group will have three bowls, two of the bowls will represent each of the characters and the third bowl will represent the similarities for the two characters. Each team will be given a bunch of cards that will have character information on them. As a team they will have to work together to sort out the cards and place them in the right bowls. First team to finish wins.
  3. Readiness Levels
    1. Independent work
      1. After teaching the objective students can independently work on comparing two characters by creating their own graphic organizer and adding the information in it.
    2. Answering wh-questions
      1. Third grades are ready to answer who, what, where, when, why and how about stories. This will be used as pre-teaching before comparing the characters.
