Core game
- the core system should work perfectly well on its own and not have any impact on the optional rulesets, nor will they have an impact on the core system. It only serves as a guiding mechanic to expand on certain things.
-
What this should cover
-
Conflict solving
- Combat
- intrigue
- skillchecks
- Character creation
- Character advancement
- NPCs & Enemies
- Example and fluff locations
-
what it should not cover
- Extended or large battles
- reputation and affinity with people or factions
- Extended checks, only make a temporary solution with a series of regular skillchecks for when a optional ruleset cant be used
-
Looting
- Rules for finding things
-
List of materials
-
Metal
- Iron, steel and the like
-
Fabric
- cloth
-
Organic
- Plants
-
unsorted
- Wood
- leather
- Ceramic
- Looting is a big thing in fallout, and there need to be some guidelines to help finding stuff, even if its seemingly useless stuff like crafting materials
-
Player groups
- a guideline that helps bring the group togeather
-
3 step idea:
- Each PC pick a background from where they come
- each PC add a need for why they are in the group
- the group as a whole choose what they do
-
example:
- 1 player is a cheat, 2 are raiders
- the cheat have been thrown out of a city and the raiders took him in,
the 2 raiders are brothers and stick togeather
- the group raids caravans that the cheat informs them of.
-
Crafting
- There is no fabricated stuff in fallout, so things needs to be made, hence crafting is going to be important. There should be a ruleset for creating a baseline weapon, and for upgrading it
-
Exploring
- Exploration is important in fallout, hence there should be guidelines for how to do exploration.
- Mutant Year Zero works well, but areas is specified and might need some simplication, maybe some scaling down, or alterations. Could be used as it is, but enemies should ofc be replaced
-
Settlements
- Being able to bring people togeather and start a settlement isnt really important but it would be nice to have a guideline for this, it could even be a raider hideout or a personal base of operation.
- need a base location, and can be upgraded with a list of things that require materials. Should also be a rough guideline for how much materials is needed to make something that isnt on the list (like a flowchart?)
