- Lactating=2500kcal/day Non-nursing=1800-2000kcal/day
- Wash hands before beginning feeding

- Cephalic size-large in comparison- 12.5-14.5 in.
- Flexed position of extremities and hands is normal
- Weight- avg. 7.8; 7oz q week
- Resp-30-60min BP-80-60/40-45mmHg, Pulse- 120-160
- Temperature-97.7-99.4 Axilllary; sudden drop is normal; should stabilize in 8-12 hrs

REFLEXES
- Neuro status
- Babinski=toes exted out (heel to toe)
- Blink= eyelids close (light)
- Papillary=pupils constrict (light)
- Rooting=head turns towards touch and mouth opens (gone @ 4 mo.)
- Sucking= should be rhythmic
- Abdominal=ABD muscles contract w/ touch across stomach
- Tonic neck=head turns to side, arm/leg flexed unilateraly, arm/leg extended unilateraly (sleep)
- Grasping=fingers close around object
- Startle withdraw=leg flexes d/t noise or pinprick to foot
- Plantar/toe-grasping=toes flex when pressure applied to ball of foot
- Step/walk=stepping mvts. when placed in upright position

- Normal=facial grimaces, symetric AB=cannot suck,grimace,or close eyes
- Normal=eyes blink w/ light AB=cannot blink
- Normal=gag/swallow reflex AB=no gag/swallow reflex
