    1. The Wolfe Tone Rebellion in 1978 failed and resulted in Tone being arrested.

    1. Very Similar to Young Italy, in that they were too secretive to gain any mass support

    1. Emmets attempt at an uprising in 1803 becamse an unruly mob that failed to achieve anything

    1. IRB = Irish Republican Brotherhood
    2. Funded by America in the latter part of the century
    3. During the later periods, they spread to England, causing violence and scaring people
    4. Used violent methods that often lost them support
