My Threats
-
Money will always be an issue. If I work for a school/hospital/private practice that has limited funding,
technology might only be available if I bring my own personal laptop
- Workaround
-
Many children may use devices for augmentative forms of communication. Learning how to use the devices may prove difficult,
and turning around and teaching the family how to use it will also be challenging.

My Opportunities
- Many classrooms have overhead projectors or SmartBoards -
these might also be useful if a therapy room contains these as well
- Now that iPads are more readily available, I could purchase one as a work expense and use it in therapy
to engage children who are non-verbal or non-social.

My Weaknesses
-
I need to learn where to find technology related to speech therapy and
how to effectively use it; there is a difference between just letting a child play with
technology and then them actually gaining something from the experience.
- Workaround
-
I can actually be too technologically savvy. In order for my clients to connect with the technology,
I have to explain it in a way that will make sense and be easy to figure out.

My Strengths
- I love designing PowerPoints, Movies, and any documents as long as I can be creative.
- If I do not know how to use a piece of technology, it rarely takes me long to figure it out and then
teach someone else how to use it.
