  5. 2 Goals
    1. I would like to learn more about the current, and potential, technological trends in education including popular software.
    2. I would like to learn how to be more involved in other cultures through the use of technological tools.
  6. Assistive Technology Tools
    1. Windows 7 Magnifier
    2. Windows Voice - Speech to Text
  7. My Threats
    1. Technology can be expensive
      1. I can make attempts to raise money or see if my school qualifies for a kind grant that will allow the school to install new tools at little cost
    2. Available technology may be outdated.
      1. I can find ways to either upgrade current systems or appeal for a new system to be put in place that will prove beneficial to our students' learning
    3. Administration may not be a supporter of incorporating technology in the classroom.
      1. This would certainly be a challenge, but I can plead my case to administration anyway, of the importance of tech, and if lack of interest is a problem, I can find some administrator who may not mind sponsoring a technology upgrade.
  8. My Opportunities
    1. Free Math writing software that the school provides to write tests, worksheets, or notes
    2. Smartboard technology with the software to add to my home computer so I can build lessons at home and transport them to school
    3. Seminars, workshops, and conferences I can attend through the school that offer additional instruction and information on new technology or new advances in the old technology
  9. My Weaknesses
    1. I do not envision technology progression and design new tools very well.
      1. I can rely on others to help me design tools and teach me the things they will design.
    2. My resources are limited to what I currently possess.
      1. I can search out opportunities to share others resources, make use of public media centers, and check for grants, scholarships, and funding to expand my resources.
    3. I am not well trained in the current, popular tools used in schools now.
      1. I can research, attend a class or workshop, and ask my mentors to show me how to use the new tools and practice with them.
  10. My Strengths
    1. I have a great deal of experience with technology, and I feel I've had exposure to several of the latest technological trends in education, like the Promethean board, the document camera, math writing software, and other helpful tools.
    2. I understand the importance of technology in the classroom, and if I don't know how to incorporate something, I have no problem researching/asking.
    3. Not only is incorporating technology in a lesson plan natural for me, but I also enjoy finding new ways to present the information through new technology.
