    3. Implementation Planning
  4. 2 Goals
    1. Select professional development opportunities based on ISTE National Educational Technology Standards for Teachers and develop a plan for my personal/professional growth.
    2. Begin to research and select technological resources that align with curriculum standards, development level, and needs of students
  5. Assistive Technology Tools
    1. Communicators: Go Talk or QuickTalker
    2. Text to Speech Softwares
  6. My Threats
    1. Time constrains inside the classroom that may not allow for technology to be use efficiently
      1. Workaround: Have special time set aside each week for technology uses
    2. Teaching students how to use the piece of technology or device
      1. Workaround: Search for and use technology devices that are easy to use and understand; using devices that students have a greater chance of being familiar with
    3. Very limited resources of technology found in the school
      1. Workaround: Use what is at hand, and give input for ideas on how school can help advance technology
  7. My Opportunities
    1. The schools computer programmer/technology aid
    2. Devices provided by the school that involve using technology for educational purposes
    3. Taking advantage of professional development opportunities that arise once in a school system or possibly those that arise in these last two practicums
  8. My Weaknesses
    1. I have a very basic and limited technological awareness
      1. Workaround: Work to educate myself about technology and implementing it into the classroom before I enter my own classroom
    2. Not familiar with integrating kid friendly, education websites into lessons or lesson extensions
      1. Workaround: Begin research now and begin searching the internet for quality websites that will benefit my students as a whole
    3. I find that my lessons tend to be long winded, and afraid that adding technology would only make them longer
      1. Workaround: As I continue with my last two practicums, I should focus on time management and attempt to build lessons around technology instead of simply trying to implement it
  9. My Strengths
    1. Comfortable attempting to incorporate classroom technology such as SMART board
    2. Own a personal computer
    3. Willing to research how to use technology to meet the needs of all my students
