The heir to a power that imprisons darkness.
She sacrificed her freedom over 100 years ago to keep Calamity Ganon sealed away and prevent him from further destroying Hyrule. After Link helped free her from that long duty she committed herself to rebuilding and restoring Hyrule, but has now gone missing.
- The highest authority on ancient technology.
She has served Princess Zelda’s family for much of her life and has worked with the princess to research the Zonal civilization. Most recently, they started an investigation into the outbreak of gloom.
She has used herself as a test subject in her experiments. Despite being over a century in age, she reversed her aging to the extreme and actually looked like a child not too long ago.
- Former chief of the Sheikah who served the royal family of Hyrule for generations and is a living witness to its near extinction. Sometime after guiding Link through the Calamity, Impa made her granddaughter Paya the new chief.
Being over a century old hasn’t stopped Impa from doing her part in the search for Princess Zelda. She’s investigating the geoglyphs around Hyrule-certain they will provide clues to where the princess is.
- The chief of the Sheikah tribe. She takes the duties she inherited from her grandmother Impa seriously, and she draws strength in her own way from being a gentle soul at heart.
She has considerable affection for Link, in part because of her grandmother’s many tales about the hero who defeated the Calamity.

An engineer whose eccentric style adds a lot to his reputation as a wild genius.
He once helped Link from his research facility at the Akkala Ancient Tech Lab. Since then, he’s moved to the Hateno Ancient Tech Lab to help Purah develop the Purah Pad. Robbie thinks he did much of the work on the device, so he’s a bit grumpy that it’s not named after him.
- A young scientist whose genius earned her the role of heading up Depths research.
Josha finds it thrilling to be working with Purah. and though she helps with various investigations into Princess Zelda’s disappearance, she’s glad to focus her time on the Depths.
- The first king of Hyrule. The strange arm was once his.
As king, he did not hesitate to risk his own life for his people. After Zelda traversed time to they era of Hyrule’s founding, he worked with her and the other five sages to imprison the Demon King.

Elder sister of Rauru. She helped her brother, the source of Link’s right arm, fight the Demon King in her role as the Sage of Spirit long ago.
When she was struck down in battle, she used her powers to preserve her spirit in the Purah Pad. She feels responsible for a Zonai secret stone giving rise to the Demon King and swore to Zelda she would do everything in her power to defeat him in the present day.
- After joining forces with Link once again, he inherited a secret stone and awakened as the Sage of Water. In recognition of Sidon’s role in saving the domain, Dorephan crowned his son as the new king of the Zora. He and Yona are now officially married.
Sidon’s older sister, the Champion Mipha, fought Calamity Ganon one hundred years ago.

A young Rito who fought at Link’s side to save his village from a strange phenomenon.
When Link first visited the village, Tulin was still a child growing up in his father’s shadow, and his eyes would light up seeing Link in action.
Now, he has shown true growth and proved himself a Rito warrior.
Tulin has inherited a secret stone and awakened as the Sage of Wind.

After fighting beside Link once again, she inherited a secret stone and awakened as the Sage of Lightning.
Under her increasingly confident leadership, Gerudo Town was freed from the threat of the Gibdos and the sand shroud. Though the Gerudo have returned to the surface, men are still barred from the town–Link, who has earned their trust, is the sole exception.

A Rito warrior who once helped Link save Rito Village. He took up the mantle of village elder from Kaneli to become the new leader of his people.
After his son, Tulin, joined with Link to confront the strange phenomenon, he acknowledged him as a fully fledged warrior and entrusted him with his precious bow.

A royal Zora from another domain. Known for her kindness, she was Sidon’s childhood friend.
When the crisis of the sludge subsided, she and her beloved Sidon finally wed. As queen, she offers Sidon her unwavering support and works tirelessly at his side for the good of the domain.
- The former king of Zora’s Domain. While assisting Hyrule during the Calamity a hundred years prior, his daughter, the Champion Mipha, fell in battle. With an open mind and heart, he overcame his grief and helped Link finally defeat the Calamity.
After his son, Sidon, proved himself worthy by putting an end to the foul sludge terrorizing the domain, he at last passed his crown to him and became the Exalted Dorephan.
- A strong warrior who guards Chief Riju. She is familiar with Link from his previous visits.
One glance at her giant claymore deters most troublemakers. Her concern for Riju is one of the few things that softens the stern demeanor she shows her soldiers.
- A great tree spirit who has stood long vigil over Korok Forest and the sword that seals the darkness.
An old friend of Princess Zelda and Link, he gently guided their efforts against the Calamity To the Koroks living in the forest, he is both a father figure and a home.
- An explorer whose passion for field research is unrivaled. He lives to make big discoveries, and he spent a long time traveling solo, investigating ruins. He is also an expert in reading Zonai writing. Princess Zelda found him to be the perfect choice for leading the Zonai Survey Team.
- An evil man who lived long ago in the era of Hyrule’s founding. His legend claims that this Gerudo man fed his bottomless ambition with great power and became a king of demons.
He was imprisoned beneath Hyrule Castle for ages, but the magic holding him weakened when the castle was damaged during the Calamity a century ago, and his power has steadily been growing since. Now he has revived as a threat beyond the knowledge of any.
- Head of the Yiga Clan, an organization with a grudge against Hyrule. His grandiosity and inexplicable charisma inspire passionate loyalty.
Originally thought to have been killed in battle with Link, he survived after falling into the depths of the world.
Burning with ambition to join the “Magnificent One” and guide the world to its end, he has sent his acolytes to all corners of Hyrule.
