    1. During tests, device --> put the car into a sort of safety mode then he ran below normal power and performance
    2. On the road : switched out of this test mode
    3. Results : Nitrogen oxide pollutants up to 40 times above the low
  5. VW's response
    1. He knows he's screwed up
    2. Broken the trust of her customers and public
    3. Martin Winterkorn replaced by Matthias Mueller (boss Porsche)
  6. Consequences
    1. Recalling millions of cars worldwide
    2. VW has set aside 6.7bn euros to cover costs
