      1. The vomer is an unpaired bone that takes part in the formation of the nasal septum. (1)
    2. Ala of vomer: 
      1. The alas of the vomer are two wing-like projections positioned on either side of the vomer’s superior border. They articulate with the sphenoid bone via the vaginal process of the medial pterygoid plate; and palatine bones via sphenoidal processes.(1)
