Relationship, Boundary, and Summary

Relationship

Relationship connects 2 related topics and you can change up the styles for line, color, arrow, text, and etc.

Add/ Delete Relationship

Add Relationship

There are 3 ways to add a Relationship.

  • Choose the topic you want to connect, then go to the Toolbar: Click Relationship, and connect with another topic.

  • Choose the target topic then go to Menu Bar: Insert > Relationship, and connect with another topic.

  • Shortcuts
    Windows:Ctrl + Shift+ L
    Mac: + + L

Delete Relationship

Choose the Relationship, and press Delete, or Right-Click the Relationship and choose Delete.

Add Texts in Relationship

There are 3 ways to add texts in the Relationship:

  • Choose the Relationship, and press Space. Press Enter, or click the blank space on the map when finish editing.

  • Double-Click the Relationship, and add texts in the box. Press Enter or click the blank space when finish editing.

  • Right-click the Relationship, and choose Edit. Press Enter or click the blank space of when finish editing.

Relationship Style

Curvature

The curvature of Relationship can be edited too. Choose target Relationship, grab the waypoint knobs, and drag to adjust.

Style

Find Relationship styles in the format panel, and switch some up.

  1. Update Style: Apply the same style to all Relationships.
  2. Shape: Line shape, thickness; Start and end point style; color.
  3. Text: Font, color, size, and etc.
  4. Reset Style helps to return to the default style.

Summary

Summary is to summarize one or more selected topics for conclusion.

Add/ Delete Summary

  • Choose one or more topics, and click Summary in the Toolbar.

  • Choose one or more topics, and click Insert > Summary in the Menu bar.

  • You can customize shortcuts in the settings.

  • Delete Summary: choose the target Summary and press Delete, or Right-Click and Delete.

Add Subtopics for Summary

Adding subtopics for a Summary is the same as adding subtopics.

  • Choose a Summary, click Subtopic in the Toolbar.

  • Shortcuts: Tab

Edit Summary

Add Texts in a Summary

There are 2 ways to add texts in a Summary:

  • Choose the target Summary, and press Space. Press Enter, or click the blank space on the map when finish editing.

  • Double-Click the target Summary, and add texts in the box. Press Enter or click the blank space on the map when finish editing.

Edit Summary Range

Choose the target Summary, and drag the Border of the frame to widen or narrow down the range.

Style

Format panel offers multiple style options for Summary.

  1. Update Style: Apply the same style to all other Summary.
  2. Summary Line: Line style, thickness, and color.
  3. Summary Topic: Frame shape, fill-in, length.
  4. Border: Border shape, thickness, color.
  5. Text: Font, color, size, and etc.
  6. Branch: Branch style, line style, end-point style, thickness, and color.
  7. Reset Style helps to return to the default style.

Boundary

Boundary rounds up and highlights topics, and you can make notes in it. Boundary is also helpful when topics share similarities.

Add/ Delete Boundary

Add Boundary

  • Choose one or more topics, click Boundary in the Toolbar.

  • Choose one or more topics, click Insert > Boundary in the Menu bar.

  • Shortcuts:
    Windows: Ctrl + B
    Mac: + + B

Delete Boundary

Choose the Boundary, and press Delete or Right-Click then click Delete.

Edit Boundary

There are 4 ways to add texts in Boundary:

  • Click the Boundary, and click + at the upper left corner, then type in.

  • Choose the Boundary, and press Space. Press Enter, or click the blank space on the map when finish editing.

  • Double-Click the Boundary, then type in. Press Enter or click the blank space on the map when finish editing.

  • Right-Click the Boundary, then choose Edit. Press Enter or click the blank space on the map when finish editing.

Edit Boundary Range

Choose the Boundary, and drag the Border of the frame to widen or narrow down the range.
